Learn about chocolate origins, the laws and art of tempering, and absorb all of our insider advice on the best ways to work with this beautiful, but sometimes intimidating ingredient, and then the fun starts... Prepare to get your hands dirty as we dive head first into (no, not pools of chocolate, though it's on our bucket list) creating some of New Farm Confectionery's most popular chocolate products! From our dreamy Chocolate Barks, traditional moulded chocolates, and decadent hand dipped chocolates, you will be well equipped with recipes for handcrafting delicious gifts to spoil family, friends, or even to impress those all-the-more eager dinner party guests! This class is $250 per person. The duration of the class is 4 hours.
What to wear?
Comfortable casual clothing is acceptable. Enclosed shoes are required, and we suggest bringing a jumper along with you as it can get cool in our kitchens.
What will we supply?
Aprons to protect your clothes will be provided to all participants, but as there is chocolate involved and we will be working in an active kitchen, we recommend keeping the 'messy' factor in mind when choosing your wardrobe for the occasion. We will also supply a glass of sparkling wine to all guests over the age of 18+ years. Packaging to take your chocolates home will also be supplied.
What is the age limit?
This class is for ages 16 and above. If you are under the age of 18 you must be accompanied by an adult. This class is aimed at adults and all attendees are at adult prices. We do also run children's classes - please visit our class listings for more information.
What are our minimum numbers?
For the Chocolate MASTERCLASS there is a minimum of 4 people required for the class to go ahead. What are our maximum numbers? For the Chocolate MASTERCLASS there is a maximum of 8 people per class.
Do I need experience?
No, not at all. All of our classes are designed with the culinary novice in mind - we will teach you all you need to know!
